Grades 7-8

Group of students in classroom posing for picture in half circleThe SAVA Middle School structure is a hybrid of a traditional classroom and an independent study model. The program is designed to help students transition from the teacher-dependent model of their elementary school to the independent model of SAVA’s High School program. Students attend class two days a week where they receive direct instruction in Math, Science, ELA, History, PE, and Art. All work is submitted through Canvas and graded by that specific subject area teacher. Students typically spend between 15-20 hours on Canvas per week.

SAVA middle school also implements home-grown Project-based Learning curriculum units in a hybrid independent study model that incorporates career exploration and hands-on CTE components to prepare MS students for entry into our high school CTE pathways.
